# Add memories

> Notes, conversations, files and web pages, and what happens after you add them.

Whatever you add is a **source**. Geniffy reads it and keeps each fact in it as its own memory, linked
back to the source. Adding returns the source straight away, while Geniffy is still reading it.

- [Notes](https://docs.geniffy.com/add-memories/notes): Text you add, with a title if you give one. Context lines cite the title, or say "note".
- [Conversations](https://docs.geniffy.com/add-memories/conversations): Messages as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or the Vercel AI SDK hold them. Who said what is kept.
- [Files](https://docs.geniffy.com/add-memories/files): PDF or Word .docx, up to 25 MB. A scan with no text in it is refused, never guessed at.
- [Web pages](https://docs.geniffy.com/add-memories/web-pages): A public page, read once when you add it. A link to a PDF is read as a PDF.
- [Many at once](https://docs.geniffy.com/add-memories/many-at-once): Up to 100 items in one call. One bad item never stops the rest.
- [When learning is done](https://docs.geniffy.com/add-memories/when-learning-is-done): Learning takes a few seconds; sources.wait() returns the moment it is done.

## Taking it out again

`sources.delete(id)` deletes a source and every memory only it taught. See
[Correct and forget](https://docs.geniffy.com/correct-and-forget) for correcting a memory, forgetting one, or erasing everything
held for one user.
