# Examples

> Runnable programs in Python and JavaScript, from a quickstart to a chat with Claude that remembers you.

Small programs that give an app a memory, in Python and JavaScript, at
[Geniffy/examples](https://github.com/Geniffy/examples). Each one runs on its own with a Geniffy API key, and
forgets what it wrote when it finishes, unless keeping it is the point.

| Example | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Quickstart | Remember something about one of your users, then recall it three ways: for your prompt, as an answer, and as ranked matches |
| Support bot | One memory per customer: the same question gets each customer's own answer, or a plain "nothing stored" |
| Chat with memory | A chat with Claude in your terminal that remembers you between runs |

## Run them

```bash
git clone https://github.com/Geniffy/examples
export GENIFFY_API_KEY="gnf_live_..."
```

Then, in your language:

```bash
cd examples/python
pip install -r requirements.txt
python quickstart.py
```

```bash
cd examples/javascript
npm install
node quickstart.mjs
```

The chat example also needs an Anthropic API key as `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY`.

## The pattern in every example

Every one is the same three steps around what your app already does: one [space](https://docs.geniffy.com/keys-and-spaces) per user,
[remember](https://docs.geniffy.com/add-memories) what they tell you, and [recall](https://docs.geniffy.com/recall/context) what bears on the next message
before your model answers. [Any framework](https://docs.geniffy.com/integrations) shows the same pattern for your own stack.
