# OpenCode

> The Geniffy plugin for OpenCode. Each session starts with what you said before, and what you discuss is saved as you go.

OpenCode can remember you and your projects: your preferences, your team's decisions and the conventions of each
project, kept across sessions and machines. The Geniffy plugin does it by itself, and adds the memory tools.

## The plugin

### 1. Add it

In `opencode.json`, in your project or in `~/.config/opencode/` for every project:

```json
{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "plugin": ["opencode-geniffy"]
}
```

OpenCode installs it the next time it starts, and the plugin adds the Geniffy MCP server to your config.

### 2. Sign in

```bash
opencode mcp auth geniffy
```

Your browser opens Geniffy: sign in and press **Allow**. That gives OpenCode the memory tools. Then type
`geniffy login` in a chat, once, for automatic memory. There is no key to copy, and nothing else to install: the
plugin runs inside OpenCode.

From then on, each session's system prompt opens with what Geniffy remembers about you and the project, and each
turn is saved in the background when the session goes idle, with secrets and code blocks left out. Type
`geniffy status`, `geniffy pause`, `geniffy resume` or `geniffy logout` in a chat: the plugin answers them
itself (the answer shows as a notice), and they are never saved. It is open source:

## Only the memory tools

To give OpenCode the memory tools without the automatic recall and saving, add the MCP server on its own:

```json
{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "mcp": {
    "geniffy": {
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://api.geniffy.com/mcp",
      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}
```

Then run `opencode mcp auth geniffy` and press **Allow**.
