VS Code
In VS Code, GitHub Copilot's agent and any extension that speaks MCP can use your Geniffy memory.
1
Add the server
Use the button, run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, or add this to .vscode/mcp.json in your
workspace:
.vscode/mcp.json
{
"servers": {
"geniffy": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.geniffy.com/mcp"
}
}
}2
Start it and sign in
Start the server from the file or from the MCP servers list. VS Code asks to sign in: sign in to Geniffy and press Allow.
With an API key
Where signing in is not an option, VS Code can ask for a Geniffy API key once and send it as a header. The key is stored by VS Code, not in the file:
.vscode/mcp.json
{
"inputs": [
{ "type": "promptString", "id": "geniffy-key", "description": "Geniffy API key", "password": true }
],
"servers": {
"geniffy": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.geniffy.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:geniffy-key}" }
}
}
