Use cases

Anywhere an AI talks to the same person more than once, a memory changes what it can do. These are the uses we see most, each with what the memory holds and the call that uses it.

Customer support

What it remembers. Each customer's orders, problems, what they asked for, and how they like to be contacted.

What changes. The bot picks up where the last conversation stopped, and never asks a customer to repeat themselves. Put context() in front of each reply, and save every conversation with memories.add(messages=...), one space per customer.

The support bot example does this for two customers.

Sales and account management

What it remembers. Who signs, when renewals come up, what each account was promised, and who said what on each call.

What changes. Before a call, brief() lists what to know about the person, each line with its source. Dates are kept as dates, so "it comes up in March", said in October, is held as next March.

Tutors and coaches

What it remembers. What a learner already knows, where they struggled, and the goals they set.

What changes. Each session builds on the last instead of starting from zero, and the coach can show the learner what it remembers, and correct it with them.

Personal assistants and companions

What it remembers. Preferences, plans, the people in someone's life and what is going on now.

What changes. profile() gives a short picture of what lasts and what is current, and newer facts replace older ones: "I moved to Pune" retires "I live in Bengaluru".

Coding with AI

What it remembers. A project's conventions, the decisions made and why, and how each developer likes to work.

What changes. With the Claude Code plugin, each session starts knowing the project, and what is decided is saved as you go, with keys and code left on your laptop.

Internal knowledge

What it remembers. Notes, PDF and Word files, and web pages a team adds.

What changes. People ask in plain words and get an answer with the line it came from, or a plain "nothing here says that" instead of a confident guess. See Add memories and ask.

Voice agents

What it remembers. Each caller's history across calls.

What changes. The agent greets a returning caller with what was said last time. Call context() when a call starts, and save the transcript when it ends.
